manhatten asked: hey i saw your post under the 'uwmadison' tag and i hope you dont mind me asking for advice on how to get in to university of wisconsin as an out of state student. its my dream college! are they any tips that will help me get in or stand out? thanks so much x

(I do not know you very well. So I can only provide some general insights)

Protect your GPA (3.5 - 3.9). Work hard in class (85–96 percentile). Ace your SAT/ACT score above the middle 50% range (1810–2000/ 27–30)Focus on the quality of extracurricular activities. Write your personal statement genuinely and proofread it before you submit your application. Ask friends or families for advice on the essay. Find connections between you and the university. Try to see if there is a program that you really like and willing to devote your heart and soul for four years and beyond. There is no sure-fire formula which alone guarantees a place in UW-Madison. Good luck.

does your school’s bell tower play the GOT theme song?  didn’t think so.

University of Wisconsin is the best place on earth.
